Children's Chapel

Children’s Chapel is designed for children ages four years through 5th grade. This age‐appropriate worship is part of the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service each week during the school year. Children process behind the choir and go to Reeves Chapel. Children return to their families at the Peace. The children have their own Sunday bulletin, which guides them from the Opening Sentences and Offertory through the reading of and response to the Gospel. A Chapel leader provides a short, child‐friendly homily. Two adult leaders conduct Children’s Chapel. Parents are welcome to accompany their children.

Children

We consider one of our most important, sacred duties raising our children in the knowledge and love of Jesus Christ.  We have special programs (Advent Wreath Making, Christmas Pageant, Easter Party, etc.) for our children throughout the year designed to incorporate them into our worship and the special feast days during the church year.

We have nursery care for the youngest (0-3) during our 10:30 a.m. service.  We offer a Sunday School curriculum designed to engage children (4-11) and help them imagine the stories of our faith in creative ways.

Children's Christian Education

A team of teachers join together to tell the stories of our faith to our children during the Christian Education time starting at 9:15 am on Sundays during the school year.  We combine several curriculum designed to engage the imagination of our children to explore what characters in the Bible are saying.  In addition to reading the story from Holy Scripture, we incorporate several methods of telling the story including video, crafts and other activities.  This class also stresses the fundamentals of Christian formation for this age group including the Lord's Prayer, the Ten Commandments, etc.
